Technology Study Challenge

Student Challenge
Neutron Academy is holding a Student Analysis Challenge the challenge winner group can win $500. This challenge promotes Robotic Technology and its ability to impact on our world positively the Digital Technology and the 6 C’s (critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity, citizenship and character education)-skills necessary in post-secondary school and the current 21st Century employment market are encouraged through this open-ended, reliable learning contest.
Student Task:
- Groups articulate
an analysis question based on one of the following general
categories: Social Justice, Environmental Stewardship, Global
Citizenship, or Artificial Intelligence
For Example:
- How Artificial Intelligence (Robot)
impact our lives and employment?
How Self driving car impact our life and who will be liable for accidence - How can Technology be used to address the human impact on the environment?
Criteria:
-Propose the analysis question to a mentor teacher.
-Provide a solution and/or outcome,
-Your solution/outcome should be analytical based.
-Your group must demonstrate full research
-Present your solution/outcome by February 10, 2021 at the Grade 8 Open Night
Analysis question submission deadline is November 20, 2020. Please email your submissions to neutronacademy5@gmail.com. The presentation of your group’s solution must be submitted September 20, 2020.
The presentation should include the following slides:
- Analysis area, group names
- Specific analysis question
- Why is it necessary?
- Proposed solution-what is it? How does it work? And what will be benefits, etc.
- A working prototype is a bonus, but not a requirement
- Etc.
A Technology department panel will assess the presentations on their professionalism, creativity and how well the solution addresses the problem. The top 3 presentations will be displayed on this website and at next year’s grade 8 Night.
